Personal Statement

My primary research interest is Community Nutrition with a focus on the nutritional well-being of people in various communities, across the lifecycle from infancy to old age, but particularly the vulnerable groups.  With an educational background in Food Science and Technology, overlaid with masters, doctoral   and postdoctoral training in Human Nutrition, I also embrace research that employs food science as a means of achieving nutrition security in rural and urban communities. In all, my research findings geared towards ensuring community-based interventions that largely influence dietary behaviours, dietary intake and nutritional status of individuals and groups. The overarching goal of my scholarly endeavours is, therefore, to promote optimal nutritional status for health, improved productivity and development of people in communities.
