Prof. Yinusa RAJI
PhD (Ib.), F.Med.Ed (Philad, USA)


Professor Raji is an Alumnus of the College of Medicine University of Ibadan. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc and PhD Physiology of the University and F. Med. Ed (Philad, USA). He joined the Department of Physiology as an Assistant Lecturer in 1991 and was promoted Professor in 2010.

Professor Raji’s major area of research is Reproductive Physiology. Currently, he is investigating the molecular mechanism of action of antimicrobials and medicinal plant (extracts with antimicrobial properties) as well as environmental pollutants on reproductive functions. In these studies the developmental programming effects/mechanisms of these substances are also investigated.

Professor Raji also has considerable expertise and interest in Medical Education with emphasis on Lecturing Skills, Curriculum Development, Assessments, Programme and Institutional Evaluations.

Professor Raji is a member of several professional societies including, Physiological Society of Nigeria (PSN), African Association of Physiological Society (AAPS), Nigerian Society for Experimental Biology (NSEB), The American Physiological Society (APS), Federation of American Society for Experimental Biology (FASEB), International Society for Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHAD), Physiological Society of UK (PHYSOC UK) and Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) USA. He serves as external examiner (undergraduate and postgraduate programmes) to many universities within and outside Nigeria.
