Personal Statement

I am a Lecturer/Professor in Nephrology at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria for the past fourteen years.

I have been involved in research and training both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  I have collaborated well in my research activities within my University and outside Nigeria. I have expertise    in the area of hypertension and nephrology research and training. I am currently collaborating with the Professor Richard Cooper of the the Department of Preventive Medicine & Epidemiology, Loyola University, Chicago on Genetics of Hypertension in Blacks:Recruitment of Hypertension Cases for Genome-Wide Association and Genetic Influences on Severity of Sickle Cell Anemia in the Yoruba .

My research focus is on genomic influence on non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, chronic kidney disease and Sickle Cell Disease.
