 A.   Personal Statement/Research Focus

My research interests include coagulation disorders, particularly Inherited Bleeding Disorders, Haemostasis in Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) patients, psychosocial issues in SCD, Prevention of HIV and AIDS and Blood Transfusion Medicine. I was a Research Fellow at the Western Ontario Haemophilia Program between 1983-1985, during which I conducted research on Immune Status of Haemophiliacs and their Obligatory carrier mothers.I have conducted research in the following areas:

·         Lupus anticoagulant in-patients with SLE

·         Pattern of bleeding in Nigerain Haemophiliacs

·         HIV, HBV and HCV in Haemophiliacs

·         Cirumcision in Haemophiliacs

·         FVIIIc level in Neonates and correlation with intra and postcirculation bleeding

·         T- cell subset in Obligatory Carrier of Haemophiliacs

·         Psychological adjustments in –patients with Sickle Cell Disease and their relatives

·         Morbidity profile of Sickle Cell Disease seen in UCH, Ibadan, Nigeria

·         IgM level in SCD patients with chronic leg Ulcers

 

·         D-Dimer in Sickle Cell Disease
