Brief Biography

1Professor Adeniyi Abidemi Adenipekun (MNIM)
MBBS, FMCR, FWACS, FUICC, MD


Professor Adenipekun is a distinguished Professor of Radiation Oncology at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, and a Consultant Radiation Oncologist at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. He earned his MBBS in 1984 from the University of Ibadan and holds fellowships with the National Postgraduate Medical College (NPMC), West African College of Surgeons (WACS), Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

He has served as Chief Examiner in Radiation Oncology for the NPMC and previously held the position of Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at UCH/UI. Prof. Adenipekun has also served as the former Chairman of UCH’s Medical Advisory Committee (2006-2011) and the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Management at Redeemer Health Center, Ibadan.

His areas of expertise include radiotherapy for breast, cervical, and prostate cancers, as well as pain management and palliative care. Additionally, he is a charter member of the National Association of Artificial Intelligence Practitioners (NAAIP) and serves in various leadership roles in healthcare, including Chairman of the Central Health Board for the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
