Biography
Olufemi Fabusoro obtained Masters Degree in the field of Human Nutrition from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and he is a Registered Dietitian (Health and Care Professions, United Kingdom; Reg. No: DT27561). He obtained a certificate in Nutrition Policy and Food Regulation from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he is also studying for his PhD degree in Nutritional Sciences, actively involving in preventive health and community engagement both within and outside of the University community. He also obtained a certificate in Nutritional Epidemiology from the German Institute for Human Nutrition respectively. He has received research fellowship awards such as Division of Nutritional Sciences University of Illinois Margin of Excellence Research Award, Renal Research Institute Fellowship ($118,038.00) to conduct a clinical trial, University of Illinois Moms Association Centennial Scholarship, Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior Foundation Scholarship and Tertiary Education Trust Fund Scholarships etc.
Olufemi Fabusoro is a clinical dietitian with special interest in nutrition and non-communicable (chronic) diseases, particularly kidney disease, diabetes, and mental health. His area of specialization is in clinical nutrition and diet therapy. His desire is to contribute to the health development of his immediate and far-reaching environment through quality research. Apart from being a lecturer in the Department of Human Nutrition, Faculty of Public Health, University of Ibadan, he was also the co-director of Nutrition Lifecycle Consulting.
He is a member of various professional bodies such American Society for Nutrition, American Society of Nephrology, Canadian Dietetic Association, Society for Nutrition Education & Behavior, Institute for Dietetics in Nigeria, Dietitian Association of Nigeria, Nutrition Society of Nigeria. He was a member of the Education committee of the Institute for Dietetics in Nigeria.
