Biography
Dr Oluwaseun Ariyo holds a PhD (Human Nutrition) from University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, Certificate in Food Systems for healthy and sustainable diets from Wageningen University, Netherlands; and Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition in a Changing Global Environment from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Rehovot, Israel. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Ibadan with bias for community and public health nutrition. His researches are inclined to promoting indigenous skills and practices to promote better nutrition and health outcomes in both long and short terms. He has been involved in community-based research activities in the areas of nutrition, agriculture and public health, through which he acquired skills in planning, implementation and evaluation of nutrition and health programmes. Dr Ariyo is a member of many professional societies including Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Nutrition Society, UK, American Society of Nutrition, African Nutrition Society and Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology. He has authored and co-authored 40 publications in reputable peer-review journals. He is a member of the National Working Group on Nigerian Food composition database, the National Committee on Food and Nutrition; and consults for few development partners and non-governmental organizations in some states including Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun, Akwa Ibom, Plateau, Kogi, Kaduna, Benue Bauchi and Jigawa. |
I have supervised thirty five (35) undergraduate and nineteen (19) postgraduate students since I assumed duty in the Department.
