On behalf of the staff, students and alumni of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (CoMUI), I extend Hearty Congratulations to Professor Folashade Akinsola, Class Coordinator, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (CoMUI) Graduating MBBS/BDS Class of 1982 & Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Lagos.
At the First Women Ophthalmologists World (WOW) and Women Ophthalmology Society (WOS) of India Conference which held in Noida NCR India from the 4th to the 6th of November 2022, Professor Akinsola received the Celebrity Women Award.
This award is to acknowledge her outstanding contributions to the Field of Ophthalmology and to recognize her pioneering role as First Chairman of The Women Ophthalmologists of Nigeria (WON).
We celebrate Professor Akinsola, a woman of virtue and excellence. It is on record that her class (MBBS/BDS Class of 1982) donated 40 million Naira towards the Student Hostel Project in CoMUI. We wish her more laurels and wins.
