With the capable, able and determined leadership of Dr. Taiwo Kotila, the Department of Haematology was able to celebrate 50 years of Research, Training and Practice at both the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (CoMUI) and the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan in the week of 21st February 2022. I invite you to read about this celebration of Excellence, History and a Bright Future for Haematology built on the report of Dr. Kotila, Acting Head of Haematology and a distinguished member of the CoMUI MBBS/BDS Graduating Class of 1987. This report will be presented in four parts featuring (1) Introduction, the (2) courtesy visit to the Provost of CoMUI, (3) Scientific Sessions including a Keynote Address delivered by the 85 year old Pioneer Head of Haematology and (4) the Cocktail Party the Provost held in honour of the Pioneer Head of Haematology and the entire Department.
