COMUI HOLDS WORKSHOP FOR CORE ADMINISRATORS AND SECRETARIES
On Friday, January 24, 2025, the management of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (COMUI) flagged off a 2-day intensive training for core administrators and secretaries to principal officers. The workshop’s theme ‘Strategic Use of Information Technologies for University Administrators and Secretaries’ could not have come at a better time. The event took place at the A.O.K. The Deputy Registrar and Secretary to the College, Mr. A.E. Odedele, officially welcomed the representative of the principal officers of the University of Ibadan (UI), Mr. G.O. Saliu (Registrar, University of Ibadan).
The COMUI management team was made up of Professor T.O. Ogundiran, FAS (Provost), Professor S.B. Olaleye (Deputy Provost), Professor F.A. Fehintola (Dean,Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences). The lead trainer was Mr. M.T. Oni.
Mr. Odedele thanked the University Registrar for attending the program even at short notice. He applauded Professor T.O. Ogundiran, FAS, for always supporting capacity development initiatives for the workforce. The Secretary to the College charged the participants to be ready to update their knowledge on technological approaches that would make their official duties seamless and effective.
In his address, the University Registrar appreciated the COMUI management for all the efforts being made to empower the workforce. He reiterated the need for life-long learning and relearning especially in the face of technological advancement and the gradual entrenchment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into daily operations.
The Provost in his remarks thanked all the management staff and the trainees and wished the participants a fruitful and rewarding experience at the well packaged training.
The topics treated at the training include: Mastering Communication and Collaboration Tools, Streamlining Workflows with Technology, Safeguarding Information and Assets, Infographics and Leveraging AI for Administrative Processes.
