Biography:

Dr Adebayo (MPH, MBBS, FWACP) is a Senior Lecturer at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, one of the foremost medical schools in West Africa. He is an honorary consultant to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Department of Community Medicine. He has a decade of experience implementing qualitative and qualitative research and evaluation studies in the field of sexual and reproductive health, with a particular focus on school health and men’s involvement in the reproductive health of their partners. He has authored/co-authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications for research and policy audiences. He was the principal/co-investigator and lead evaluation researcher on several reproductive health studies. Dr Adebayo was a co-investigator in the  WWW.Partners multi-pronged female empowerment intervention in Nigeria, funded under the Gates Foundation’s Grand Challenge mechanism. He was the PI of the WBG/SVRI grant to explore the impact of female empowerment programme on violence and coercive behaviours. He is currently working on a pilot project to improve school-age children's health status through a model school health programme in a community in Ibadan, Southwest Nigeria. In addition, he is currently a co-investigator in a TETFUND grand to develop and implement a Pragmatic University Mental Health Services Model in Southwest Nigeria.

Regarding community service, Dr Adebayo participates in medical outreaches to underserved communities in Nigeria and Africa; represents the Nigerian Medical Association, Oyo State Chapter on the Technical Committee advocating for the eradication of FGM in Oyo State and has facilitated as a stakeholder in the development and validation of the Oyo State Annual Strategic Health Development Plan since 2018 till date.
