 Biography:

David A. Adewole MBChB (Ife), MPH (Ib), DLSHTM (UK), Cert. (Harvard, USA), Cert. Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) The Netherlands, MSc (LSE, UK), PhD (UCT, South Africa), FMCPH (Nig).

David A. Adewole lectures in the Department of Health Policy and Management, Faculty of Public Health, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Master of Public Health in Community Medicine from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK, Master of Science in Health Policy, Planning & Financing with concentration in Health Economics from the London School of Economics & Political Science, UK and a PhD in with a focus on health systems research from the University of Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa. He has certificates in health systems from other notable institutions. He joined the Department of Health Policy and Management in April 2015. His research areas are health care financing, health policy and health systems research.  

He was a Consultant to the WHO and CDC in the control of infectious diseases in Bangladesh, South East Asia. He was involved as a Consultant to the WHO in the National Mapping of lymphatic filariasis in Nigeria among other National assignments. He was a member of the committee that was responsible for the design and implementation of the Oyo State Health Insurance Programme. He has served as consultants on many projects in health systems for local and international organizations. He was a Senior Advisor with the Fhi360 (formerly Family Health International) in Abuja for a couple of years. He was briefly with the National Agency for the Control of AIDS as an Assistant Director before he joined the Department of Health Policy & Management of the University of Ibadan.
