Biography:

Isaac O. Dipeolu

Dr Isaac Oluwafemi Dipeolu is a Senior Lecturer and a mid-career researcher with an academic background in education, social and behavioural sciences with specialised training in health research ethics. He joined the Department of Health Promotion and Education, Faculty of Public Health, the University of Ibadan, in July 2012.

He holds master and doctoral degrees in Public Health (Health Promotion and Education) from the University of Ibadan. His doctoral thesis focused on child health. He earned another Master of Social Science (MSocSci) degree in Health Research Ethics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

Dr Dipeolu has over 15 years of experience in academics and agency-funded projects and collaborated with others in research such as HIV/AIDS, maternal, child and adolescent health, health communication, mHealth and eHealth, artificial intelligence and malaria. He has led several community-based research or consultancy projects funded by local and international agencies. His research interest includes maternal, child and adolescent health, health research ethics, behaviour change communication and health systems. He is a recipient of scholarships and fellowships. Oluwafemi is a fellow of the African Doctoral Dissertation Research Fellowship (ADDRF) and the Prof. James Hakim Leadership Development Program (JHLDP). He is also a scholar of the South African Research Ethics Training Initiatives. Oluwafemi is a member of some learned societies, has participated in many international conferences, and has papers published in reputable peer-reviewed journals.

He is serving the department, faculty and university in various administrative capacities. He was a former Sub-Dean, Postgraduate, Faculty of Public Health and currently the Acting Head, Department of Health Promotion and Education.

In the long-term perspective, he hopes to be a scholar in health research ethics, pioneering innovative research and proposing policies and evidence-based programmes.

Oluwafemi enjoys workouts in the gym, swimming, snooker, chess, table tennis, listening to music, and travelling in his leisure time.
