Biography

Dr. Taiwo A. Lawal is a Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Paediatric Surgeon in the Department of Surgery. He graduated from the University of Ibadan with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He also has a Doctorate in Medicine from the Hannover Medical School in Germany and is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the International College of Surgeons (FICS). His research focuses on paediatric colorectal surgery, prevention and management of congenital malformations, surgical outcomes research and medical education. He served as the Sub-Dean (Undergraduate) MBBS in the Faculty of Clinical Sciences between 2014 and 2018 and is currently the Sub-Dean (Postgraduate). He is a reviewer for several international and local journals and serves on the editorial boards of the African Journal of Medicine and Medical Sciences and Prime Medics Journal.
