Dr. Titi Britto of the CoMUI MBBS Class of 1986 Attains Silver Donor Status with a Consistent Monthly Donation

Dr. Titi Britto, nee George, a distinguished member of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (CoMUI) Class of 1986, has achieved the esteemed Sliver Donation status in recognition of her remarkable fundraising efforts towards the Hostel Project for Students of CoMUI. As a dedicated past President of the Ibadan College of Medicine, Alumni Association North America Chapter (ICOMAA NA), and an active member of the Hostel Building Committee, Dr. Britto has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to the project's success. The President of ICOMAA NA announced this accomplishment during her birthday tribute on May 25, 2023. On this special occasion, we share three heartfelt tributes from the President of ICOMAA NA, a former President of ICOMAA NA, and the Provost of CoMUI, all acknowledging Dr. Britto's invaluable contributions and inspiring support.

Dedication:

Today, the 25th, 2023, marks your birthday, a milestone in your life journey; we celebrate you today. Recognizing the importance and role of the ongoing UCH-Hostel project to our College of Medicine's accreditation, on June 25, 2022, you solemnly pledged and committed to paying $250 on the 25th of every month until the Hostel is completed.

Today marks the 12th month since you began your monthly pledge of $250 to the Hostel Funds, resulting in a cumulative donation of $3,000, reaching the Bronze level. Your determination to move quickly into Silver before the A.G.M., allowed you to donate an extra $750, pushing you comfortably into the Silver category.   Quoting you, we appreciate your mantra of "Giving until it hurts."

On behalf of ICOMAA-NA Executives and our entire membership, we congratulate you on your birthday and express our profound gratitude for your example of dedication. The pledge you kept, the commitment you maintained. Many look up to you as a solid rock we want other members to emulate. Your stewardship and leadership continue to inspire us all.

We wish you a merry and happy birthday.

Happy Birthday to a Great Alumnus!

Dr. Titi Britto has been a constant champion and advocate for all things ICOMAA and all things ICOMAA. For years, even decades, she has worked tirelessly every day to support our association and our College. Even today, she is hard at work behind the scenes finding ways to make sure daily progress is being made. Thank you, Titi, for your example and your inspiration to us all.

A Tribute to Dr. Titi Britto, nee George, on her Birthday

Today, I join our elders and my colleagues on the ICOMAA NA platform to celebrate a true builder of ‘men’ and institutes. I have known Titi since secondary school days, and she had always had a great big heart, but in the last few years and months I have been Provost, she has been wonderful. She has encouraged us, sought us out for advice, and made us feel good about the little things we do. She is always available to help do tasks and does not make us feel uncomfortable. She has actively helped with fundraising, given sacrificially, and is a faithful member of the Building Committee for the Student’s hostel. She has also been providing support to other chapters of ICOMAA around the world about how to formalize their organization’s registration and get all the relevant tax rebate systems in place. Truly

#BuilttoBuild!

Titi you are Blessed, Bold, Brilliant, Beautiful (in & out), and Beloved of God. Have a great new year, dear sister.

With Blessings,

Olayinka Omigbodun FAS

Professor of Psychiatry and Provost, CoMUI.
