The Provost, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Professor T.O. Ogundiran today August 7,2024 was at the main campus of the University of Ibadan to visit some key management staff. This is a follow up to the courtesy visits observed on his first day in office when he called on the Vice Chancelor, Prof K.O. Adebowale, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancelor Administration -Prof P.O.Olapegba and the Registrar-Mr. G.O.Saliu. The officers visited today include the Deputy Vice Chancellor -Academics-Prof Aderonke Baiyeroju, the University Bursar-Mr. A. Popoola, the University Librarian-Dr Mercy Iroagaunchi, the Chief Auditor of the University of Ibadan- Mr Folorunso, the Provost of the Postgraduate College-Prof.A.S.O.Ogunjuyigbe and the Director of Academic Planning- Prof A.E.Ayodele.
The Provost was in University of Ibadan in the company of the Secretary to the College- Mr A.E.Odedele, the Medical Librarian- Dr. Grace Ajuwon and the Financial Controller-Mr S.O.Ayansina, among others. The team from CoMUI was warmly received by all the University leaders visited. At every point, they were heartily welcomed with felicitations and general prayers for a successful tenure.
The visit marks another milestone in the ground breaking activities of the new administration. In a warm and engaging manner, Prof. T. Ogundiran shared his vision for advancing the College of Medicine, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing research capabilities, promoting staff and students’ welfare while fostering stronger collaborations with all units of the University.
The visits were re-assuring and full of optimism about the future of CoMUI under the present administration. From each visit, echoes of support and promises of cooperation rang out. The key message was the fact that the University is a unified system of many interconnected parts. All the officers visited spoke about the importance of their various units to the running of the University and pointed out areas were they can collaborate with CoMUI. For the Provost, the resounding theme was the need for synergy, cooperation and collaboration.
Professor T.O. Ogundiran is the 13th provost of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. He assumed office on August 1, 2024.
