Monthly Workshop for a Well-Informed Workforce September 2024 Edition

On 13 September 2024, the College of Medicine held its Monthly Workshop for Well Informed Workforce, it was well attended by the member of staff of the College who joined both virtually and in-person. The session, which will now hold every second Friday of the month, kicked off at 9 AM with the national, university, and college anthems.

The Provost, Prof. T.O. Ogundiran, addressed the gathering for the first time since his recent appointment. He was joined by the College Secretary, Mr. A.E. Odedele, Dean of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Prof. T.A. Lawal, and Capacity Development Committee Chairman, Prof. O. Ibiyemi.

Mr. S. Oyetunde presented the first lecture, offering a helpful shortcut for properly shutting down computer systems to prevent crashes. The second lecture, by Dr. Ibiyemi, focused on effective multitasking strategies, emphasizing time management and self-motivation. He espoused on the need to develop organizational skills through priortisation of tasks, minimization of distractions and the need to ask for help when needed as effective multitasking strategies. Track time speed, and track communication top the web applications he suggested to the audience to help effective multitasking.

Prof. Ogundiran concluded the event with a powerful town hall message titled My Work, My Time, My Life and My All, encouraging staff to resolve conflicts and continue giving their best. He shared his "7Ps" for success: Privilege, Purpose, Plan, Productivity, Perseverance, Partnership, and Praise.

The program ended at 11 AM with the College anthem.
