Ladies and gentlemen
It is with great pleasure and due sense of responsibility that I convene the first academic board meeting of our nascent administration. This board is constituted by top academicians from our various faculties in the College and they are responsible for dictating the trajectory of the academic programs in our college. The board has therefore served as the veritable platform that provides invaluable resource to the College as she strives to maintain her leadership in educating future health professionals.
I would like to reiterate my commitment to fulfilling, to the details, the many values that I have expanded upon during the campaigns. My primary goal is to enable a robust environment for students and staff to thrive in the endeavors of learning, teaching, research and service. Our students as the flag bearers of the College during their training and after, must not only have excellence ingrained in them but must reflect the virtues associated with true excellence. It has also become pertinent that we engage the wider community and industry to facilitate our growth whilst keeping our internationalization agenda on the front burner.
Without doubt, I acknowledge our need of the support and guidance from this board to bring to fruition the ideals above. I therefore, solicit these and look forward to working with you all for the continuous uplifting of our great College.
It may demand more sacrifices than usual, but I trust that the passion for the success of our College will continue to propel us to continually yield towards the giving of our time, energy and diverse resources including the utilization of our various networks.
I believe that together we can wade through the many herculean challenges that face the education of health practitioners in this country and maintain our capacity for innovative ways that will nurture the dreams we have for our great College and keep us at the forefront within our country and beyond.
I look forward, excitedly, to this new era with you all.
