Sailing Through Memories: A Ship Cruise at the ICOMAA-NA Alumni Meeting in New York on Saturday June 24, 2023

Recollections of Friendship & Laughter Remain Strong & Beautiful, A Year Later

At the heart of New York City, a serene escape awaited the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (CoMUI) alumni, who were able to attend the Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Association North America (ICOMAA-NA) annual general meeting which held on Friday June 23 and Saturday June 24, 2023. Indeed, old friendship and memories were rekindled aboard the majestic ship, the Hudson River, and new ones were forged.

As the sun went down, making the city look golden, friends, family, alumni joined members of the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees of ICOMAA-NA, on the cruise. With the calming waves in the background, everyone chatted easily, sharing stories and dreams. This was punctuated by sights of the famous Statue of Liberty.

As the ship glided smoothly on the river, people laughed and enjoyed live music together. Every moment felt special and memorable for everyone on board.

This cruise meant a lot to the ICOMAA-NA alumni. It was more than just a get-together; it was a chance to celebrate their shared connection and show their dedication to the community. Seeing the city lights in the distance made them feel hopeful about the future as they sailed ahead, excited to keep learning and helping people.

Leaving behind a trail of shimmering reflections upon the water, one thing remained abundantly clear—the spirit of ICOMAA-NA would forever sail on, guided by the enduring values of knowledge, compassion, and unity.
