 Brief Biography: Dr Dairo, is a physician with many years’ of academic and professional experience in the field of public health; He holds the degree qualifications of M.Sc. (Bioethics) and M.Sc. (Epidemiology and Medical Statistics and the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He was a Fogarthy Bioethics Scholar at the University of Ibadan (2011-2015). He received training in case study approach to teaching from the Harvard School of Public Health(2013) and Emory University School of Public Health, USA (2016). He was also a fellow of the Foundation for Advancement of Medical Education and Research, South African Region (SAFRI, 2013)

  1. Adolescent sexual negotiation and uptake of reproductive health services in Oyo State.

This study aims to assess the self-reported capacity of adolescents to negotiate safe sexual encounters with their partners and assess gaps in contraceptive uptake among sexually active young persons and adolescents. The findings of this study is intended to be directed towards the design of counselling on safe sex programs for adolescents in schools in Oyo state.

  1. Prevalence and risk factors for Toxoplasmosis and Cytomegalovirus infection among pregnant women in Lagos Nigeria

Sexually transmitted infections among pregnant women have been known to be risk factors for congenital malformation in newborn. Although some documentation exists on the risk of herpes and syphilis, toxoplasmosis and cytomegalovirus infection have been neglected in the available studies. This set of studies aims to assess the burden of these infections among pregnant women and project on their contributions to congenital malformations in the newborn in these communities.

  1. Adolescent STI risk perception and sexual behavior in Ibadan, Nigeria

Adolescent awareness and perception of risk of sexually transmitted diseases are expected factors to influence their sexual behavior and uptake of reproductive health services. This set of studies explore their understanding and perception of risk of contracting of these diseases in order to enrich the implementation of adolescent reproductive health services and programmes.
