Research
Brief Summary: The majority of research on schizophrenia and other psychoses has been conducted in North America, Australasia and Europe. Research conducted in other settings has tended to be methodologically limited and heterogeneous, making cross-country comparisons difficult. This project is a three-country programme of research designed to develop robust, comparable methods for the study of schizophrenia and other psychoses in diverse settings(Phase 1) and to subsequently implement these in a three-country (India , Nigeria and Trinidad)study of the epidemiology, phenomenology, aetiology and outcome of psychoses (Phase 2). The project started in 2011 and the phase 1 of the project has been completed. The second phase of the project started in 2018.
Brief Summary: This is a cross-sectional comparative study of patients with Bipolar I Disorder with patients schizophrenia. The project started in 2015 and is still ongoing.
Brief Summary: This study examines cognitive functions in patients with severe mental illnesses in comparison with healthy controls
Brief Summary: The overall aim of the Collaborative Shared Care to Improve Psychosis Outcome (COSIMPO) is to test the effectiveness of a collaborative shared care program between complementary alternative providers (CAPs) and primary health care providers (PHCPs) in improving the outcome of psychosis.
Brief Summary: This is a cross-sectional comparison of the profile, demographics and psychopathology between patients with first-episode Acute and Transient Psychotic Disorder and first episode schizophrenia.Publications
