DETAILS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE AT UNIVERSITY LEVEL

Since my appointment, I have been involved in substantial teaching duties to clinical students in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology at undergraduate level, and at the postgraduate level for the various masters programs run in conjunction with the public health faculty. The duties included formal lectures as allocated within the departmental lecture program. I also carried out tutorials, bedside teaching which, involved demonstration of clinical signs and symptoms of various diseases to clinical students on the wards, clinics, accident and emergency unit and the labor ward. I have in the past years served as internal examiner to the department of obstetrics and gynaecology during end of posting tests and the part III final MBBS examinations which I have been coordinating for about 2 years now. I have also been external examiner to the departments of Obsterics and gynaecology of the university of Ilorin, Ladoke Akintola university of technology, Osogbo and university of Benin. I won the prestigious College Research Grant as the co-investigator in the year 2001 (Amount N250, 000)(Proposal-Relationship between microalbuminuria, hypertension in pregnancy and preeclampsia/eclampsia) and. Recently I wrote and won with others, the MacArthur Foundation Research Grant 2006 ($17,000 USD). Proposal-Influence of cohabitation, early pregnancy losses and new paternity on risk of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy in Ibadan, Nigeria. I won the re-entry Grant of the Gates Institute of the Johns Hopkins University to the tune of $50,000 to study hypertension in pregnancy.

PROFESSIONAL DUTIES AS CONSULTANT OBSTERICIAN AND GYNAECOLOGIST

Since 1999, I have been a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University College Hospital, Ibadan. In that capacity, my duties include outpatient and inpatient care. I also perform gyanecological and Obstetrics surgical procedures. I am also involved in teaching Resident Doctors in training for professional postgraduate diploma, i.e FWACS and FMCOG programs. I have supervised dissertations of some of them at the part II Fellowship examination level leading to the award of FMCOG. In some of the supervised projects, I provided the research topics and the funds.  I was Chairman of the Contnuous Medical Education Committee of the Nigerian Medical Association Oyo State branch from November 2000 to April 2002,

I was appointed as examiner by the West African College of Physician at both Primary and Part I levels. I was also appointed examiner to the National Postgraduate Medical college for Part I &2  examinations in the faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

I have been internal examiner for MHS and MSc reproductive health in my departmentment and in the faculty of public health. I have been and observer at many MPH and PhD examinations as the sub-dean (postgraduate) for my Faculty.
