Dr. Okesola graduated from the renowned University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University with B.Sc (Hons) Health Sciences and MBChB. She proceeded to further specialise in medical microbiology and parasitology with a focus on infectious disseases by undergoing the residency training programme in the department of medical microbiology and parasitology at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. After completing the residency training programme she was subsequently appointed a lecturer 1 by the College of medicine, University of Ibadan, Ibadan and as a consultant clinical microbiologist in the department of medical microbiology and parasitology by University College Hospital, Ibadan.
She has since continued her academic career as a lecturer and as a consultant clinical microbiologist at the College of medicine, University of Ibadan, Ibadan and University College Hospital, Ibadan respectively.
Dr. Abiola Okesola has contributed to scholarship in the department of medical microbiology and parasitology with publications in journals, training, teaching and mentoring resident doctors, medical students and other categories of students. She has been involved in the supervision of projects of resident doctors and various categories of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has also been involved in the management of various infectious diseases at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.Publications
