Researches

  1. Recent completed researches
  • Community survey on urinary incontinence survey in Ibadan tagged “The Ibadan Urinary incontinence Household survey” – design and facilitated the conduct of the study with over 5,000 respondents.
  • Use of Non-pneumatic Anti-shock Garment (NASG) in the management of Obstetric haemorrhage in Nigeria. It was a multi-centered quasi-experimental trial conducted in Nigeria. I led the Nigerian team of researchers. The finding of the research has generated interest of international organizations such as WHO and FIGO resulting in their commitment to its incorporation into their policy document.
  • Assessment of the effect of psycho-social support during childbirth in Ibadan: A randomised controlled trial – Design and coordinated the study
  • Social Support in Labour, as a catalyst for contraceptive uptake in Nigeria: a Randomised Controlled Trial –design and coordination of the study
  • Community survey on the awareness and attitude of women to stillbirth in Ibadan. Designed and coordinated the survey
  1. On-going Researches
  • Family Health and Wealth Survey– It is 3 year International multi-country level research involving 10 African countries and China, that is been coordinated by the Director of Bill and Melinda Gates Institute, Johns Hopkins University, USA. The research hopes link family wealth with several reproductive health indicators using Global Information System for spatial analysis.
  • Evaluation of the effect of pumpkin leaf on the haematological profile of pregnant women: A multicentered randomized controlled trial.This study aims to evaluate use of supplemental vegetable as a cheap source of iron in the treatment of anaemia in pregnancy. The  leader of the research team that developed the concept
  • The effect of pregnancy and childbirth on the risk of developing non-fistulous urinary incontinence among women: evidence from a randomized controlled trial. It is a multidisciplinary operational research concept
  • The mental ill health patterns among obstetric fistula patients. It is a multidisciplinary longitudinal study involving psychiatry unit.
