Construction Activity Reporting Schedule: 12^th Report

General Update on the Project Site

A general site inspection and a meeting were held on the 25^th of April 2024. The client, consultants, and contractors inspected the three buildings under construction to keep abreast of the work progress on site and to ascertain the quality of work.

At the site meeting, the minutes of the last site meeting were read and matters arising from the minutes were discussed. The issues addressed include the need for the contractors to improve on the pace of work, issues of payment and expenditure, the programme of work, and the observations of the client and consultants.

The contractors promised that the work pace would increase immediately to expedite progress. The client also urged the contractors to give more impetus that will enhance the delivery of the project as planned.

Site Construction Activities

BLOCK C (PHILIP OZUAH BLOCK)

Update: The formwork for the second-floor slab was nearing completion. The placement of the steel reinforcement for the floor slab had reached 90% completion. The placement of sleeves for the electrical and mechanical services was ongoing. The block laying for the walls on the ground floor was ongoing and had reached 60% completion. The construction work was as in the schedule of work.

BLOCK D (TY DANJUMA BLOCK)

Update: The construction of block D was still at the substructure stage. The laterite earth filling was at 75% completion. The weak concrete blinding of the well-compacted earth filling had commenced. The damp-proof membrane was also being laid on the blinding base. The placement of the steel reinforcement had commenced.

The laterite earth filling and blinding were expected to be completed by the end of the week.

BLOCK F (ALUMNI BLOCK)

Update: The casting of the ground floor oversite concrete slab had commenced. The casting of the entire ground floor slab was expected to be completed by the end of the week.
