Construction Activity Reporting Schedule

Date: 18th May, 2024.

Site Construction Activities

Block C (Philip Ozuah Block)

Update: Upon completion of the casting of the second-floor slab of the superstructure, the work of raising the steel reinforcements for the concrete columns that will support the third-floor slab of the building commenced. On the ground floor, the blockwork for the block wall partitions is ongoing at the lintel level, and the formworks and the iron bending works for the lintel steel reinforcement have commenced. (The columns to support the floor slab are being raised, and the steel reinforcement and formworks are being positioned. On the ground floor, the steel reinforcement is being placed in the formwork of the lintel on the block walls.)

As of the 13th of May - 18th of May, the raising of steel reinforcements for support of the third floor is at 95% completion, the blockwork for the block walls partitions is at 60% completion and the iron bending works for the lintel steel reinforcement is at 30% completion.

Challenges: There has been no significant challenge in the construction works of this block.

Block D (TY Danjuma Block)

Update: The construction of this building has reached the first level of the superstructure with the completion of the casting of the oversite concrete slab of the ground floor. The raising of the steel reinforcements for the concrete columns that will support the first-floor slab has commenced as the formworks are being erected.

As of the 13th of May - the 18th of May, the casting of the slab is at 60% completion.

Challenges: There has been no significant challenge in the construction works of this block.

Block E (Block)

Update: The excavator has done some levelling on the site and the setting out is ongoing.

Timelines: The setting out will be completed before the 23rd of May.

Challenges: There were delays on the levelling, due to the reoccurrence of rainfall in the past week, but it has commenced.

Block F (Alumni Block)

Update: The casting of the reinforced concrete columns that will support the first-floor slab has been completed, the formwork of floor beams and the slab is ongoing. The iron bending works of the steel reinforcements have commenced. The placement of steel reinforcements for the floor beams has also commenced.

Timeline: As of the 13th of May - 18th of May, the formwork of the floor slab is ongoing.

Challenges: There has been no significant challenge on the construction works of this block.
