Construction Activity Reporting Schedule

Date: 9th February 2024.

Site Construction Activities

Block C (Philip Ozuah Block)

Update: Block C is at the superstructure stage, having completed the columns to support the first-floor slab. The construction work on the project has reached the formworks for the first-floor slab and the beams have reached 70% completion. The formwork for staircases connecting the ground floor to the first floor of the building is also being done. The placement of the steel reinforcement of the beams into the formwork is being carried out. The contractor needs to be informed of any challenges militating against work progress as tasks are still being carried out within the envisaged timelines. The fabrication of the steel handrail is ongoing.

The situation with Timeline:

As of the 2nd - 8th of February, the formwork for the first floor has reached 70% completion.

Block D (TY Danjuma Block)

Update: The compaction and sand filling for the blinding of the foundation base continues on site. The contractor continues to receive delivery of more building materials. Block D is at the substructure stage, the blinding of the foundation base has reached 90% completion even as the making of the formworks to receive the steel reinforcements for the foundation has commenced. The contractor is excavating a portion of the foundation again to exhume the underlying soil that contains impurities that can undermine the foundation's stability. The exhumed portion will be filled with a more stable material such as granite hardcore. The formwork for the foundation has reached 20% completion.
The situation with Timeline:

As of the 2nd - 8th of February, the casting of the reinforced concrete columns has reached 60% completion. The binding of the foundation base has reached 90% completion. The formwork for the foundation has reached 20% completion.

Block F (Alumni Block)

Update: The blinding of the levelled foundation base continues on site. The fabrication of the site boarding for the site boundary is ongoing. The contractor took deliveries of more building materials. The iron bending works for the steel reinforcements of foundation work have commenced. The formwork for the foundation steel reinforcements has also commenced. The construction work is at the substructure stage, even as the excavation and foundation base blinding have been fully completed, the making of the formworks for the foundation steel reinforcement and concreting is ongoing. The removal of the topsoil laden with degradable or compost substances has commenced.

As of the 2nd - 8th of February, the blinding of the foundation base has reached 80% completion. The steel bending works reached 70% completion
